Dr. Truong Phan is the Owner and Optometrist at Bering See Vision in Nome, Alaska, where he serves his community by providing personalized optical and medical eye care services. Born and raised in Nome, Alaska, Truong has always had a deep connection to his hometown.
Truong is a proud graduate of Nome Beltz High School, class of 1999. After high school, he pursued his passion for learning by obtaining two Bachelor of Science degrees in Biology and Business Administration in 2004 from the University of Texas at Dallas. He then continued his academic pursuits by earning his Doctor of Optometry degree in 2010 from the prestigious University of Houston College of Optometry.
Before returning to Nome, Truong Phan practiced optometry in Dallas, Texas, gaining valuable experience and expertise in the field. However, his love for his hometown and the desire to contribute to its well-being ultimately led him back to Nome.
Truong is not only dedicated to his profession but also actively engaged in his community. He is a proud member of the Nome Chamber of Commerce, working to foster local business growth and development. Additionally, he is a member of the Bering Sea Lions Club, where he participates in various community service projects.
Outside of his professional and community commitments, Truong is a passionate volunteer at the Checkpoint Youth Center, where he mentors and supports the youth of Nome. He finds joy in giving back to the community that has shaped his life.
In his leisure time, Truong enjoys exploring the great outdoors of Alaska, whether it's fishing or embarking on adventures that showcase the natural beauty of the region. He is an avid traveler, always eager to explore new destinations and cultures. However, what truly matters most to him is spending quality time with his friends and family, cherishing the moments that create lasting memories.
